Job Description:
We are looking for a highly organized and knowledgeable paralegal to support attorneys in estate administration and trust matters. The ideal candidate will have experience managing probate filings, trust distributions, and asset transfers while ensuring compliance with legal and financial requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist attorneys with all aspects of estate and trust administration.
Prepare and file probate petitions, inventories, accountings, and related court documents.
Coordinate and oversee the collection, valuation, and transfer of estate assets.
Draft and review trust documents, beneficiary designations, and related legal forms.
Communicate with clients, financial institutions, and beneficiaries regarding estate matters.
Maintain case files, track deadlines, and ensure compliance with estate and tax laws.
Prepare estate tax returns (IRS Form 706) and gift tax returns (IRS Form 709).
Assist in the distribution of estate and trust assets to beneficiaries.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a paralegal in estate administration and trust matters.
Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a related field; paralegal certification preferred.
Proficiency in estate and trust administration software and case management systems.
Strong understanding of probate court procedures and estate tax laws.
Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple cases simultaneously.
High attention to detail and ability to maintain confidentiality.
